Psalms 114

Psalm 114 ESV

The miracles of God's power, when he brought his people out of Egypt, are a just ground of fearing him.
1 When 1Israel went out from Egypt, the house of Jacob from 2a people of strange language,
2 Judah became his 1sanctuary, Israel his dominion.
3 1The sea looked and fled; 2Jordan turned back.
4 1The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs.
5 What 1ails you, O sea, that you flee? O Jordan, that you turn back?
6 O mountains, that you skip like rams? O hills, like lambs?
7 1Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob,
8 who turns 1the rock into 2a pool of water, 3the flint into a spring of water.
