Psalms 11

Psalm 11 ESV

1David encourageth himself in God against his enemies. 4The providence and justice of God.
To the choirmaster. Of David.
1 In the Lord I take refuge; how can you say to my soul, 1“Flee like a bird to your mountain,
2 for behold, the wicked 1bend the bow; 2they have fitted their arrow to the string to shoot in the dark at the upright in heart;
3 if 1the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?”a
4 1The Lord is in his holy temple; the Lord's 2throne is in heaven; his eyes see, his eyelids 3test the children of man.
5 The Lord 1tests the righteous, but 2his soul hates the wicked and the one who loves violence.
6 Let him rain coals on the wicked; 1fire and sulfur and a scorching wind shall be 2the portion of their cup.
7 For the Lord is righteous; he 1loves righteous deeds; 2the upright shall behold his face.
