Psalms 58

Psalm 58 ESV

David reproving wicked judges, 3describeth the nature of the wicked, 6and devoteth them to God's judgments, 10whereat the righteous shall rejoice.
To the choirmaster: according to 1Do Not Destroy. A 2Miktama of David.
Do you indeed decree what is right, you gods?a Do you judge the children of man uprightly?
No, in your hearts you devise wrongs; your hands 1deal out violence on earth.
The wicked are 1estranged from the womb; they go astray from birth, speaking lies.
1They have venom like the venom of a serpent, like the deaf adder that stops its ear,
so that it 1does not hear the voice of charmers or of the cunning enchanter.
O God, 1break the teeth in their mouths; tear out the fangs of the young lions, O Lord!
Let them 1vanish like water that runs away; when he 2aims his arrows, let them be blunted.
Let them be like the snail 1that dissolves into slime, like 2the stillborn child who never sees the sun.
Sooner than your pots can feel the heat of 1thorns, whether green or ablaze, may he 2sweep them away!a
1The righteous will rejoice when he sees the vengeance; he will 2bathe his feet in the blood of the wicked.
Mankind will say, “Surely there is 1a reward for the righteous; surely there is a God who 2judges on earth.”
