Psalms 85

Psalm 85 ESV

The Psalmist, having acknowledged God's returning favour to his people, humbly prayeth for the completion of it: 8he promiseth to wait God's answer in confidence of his manifold blessings.
To the choirmaster. A Psalm of 1the Sons of Korah.
Lord, you were 1favorable to your land; you 2restored the fortunes of Jacob.
You 1forgave the iniquity of your people; you 2covered all their sin. Selah
You withdrew all your wrath; you 1turned from your hot anger.
1Restore us again, O God of our salvation, and put away your indignation toward us!
1Will you be angry with us forever? Will you prolong your anger to all generations?
Will you not 1revive us again, that your people may 2rejoice in you?
Show us your steadfast love, O Lord, and grant us your salvation.
1Let me hear what God the Lord will speak, for he will 2speak peace to his people, to his 3saints; but let them not 4turn back to 5folly.
Surely his 1salvation is near to those who fear him, that 2glory may dwell in our land.
1Steadfast love and faithfulness meet; 2righteousness and peace kiss each other.
Faithfulness springs up from the ground, and righteousness looks down from the sky.
Yes, 1the Lord will give what is good, and our land 2will yield its increase.
1Righteousness will go before him and make his footsteps a way.
