Psalms 13

Psalm 13 ESV

1David complaineth of God's delay to help him: 3he prayeth God to support him, that his enemies may not insult over him: 5he trusteth in the divine mercy.
To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David.
1 1How long, O Lord? Will you 2forget me forever? How long will you 3hide your face from me?
2 How long must I take 1counsel in my soul and have sorrow in my heart all the day? How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?
3 1Consider and answer me, O Lord my God; 2light up my eyes, lest 3I sleep the sleep of death,
4 1lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed over him,” lest my foes rejoice because I am 2shaken.
5 But I have 1trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall 2rejoice in your salvation.
6 I will sing to the Lord, because he has dealt bountifully with me.
