Psalms 14

Psalm 14 ESV

1David describeth the general corruption of mankind. 7He wisheth to see the salvation of God.
To the choirmaster. Of David.
1 1The 2fool says in his heart, 3“There is no God.” They are 4corrupt, they do abominable deeds; 5there is none who does good.
2 The Lord 1looks down from heaven on the children of man, to see if there are any who understand,a who 2seek after God.
3 They have all turned aside; together they have become 1corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one.
4 Have they no 1knowledge, all the evildoers who 2eat up my people as they eat bread and 3do not call upon the Lord?
5 There they are in great terror, for God is with 1the generation of the righteous.
6 You would shame the plans of the poor, buta the Lord is his 1refuge.
7 Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! When the Lord 1restores the fortunes of his people, let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad.
