Psalms 30

Psalm 30 ESV

David praiseth God for his deliverance: 4he exhorteth others to praise him by the example of God's dealing with him.
A Psalm of David. A song at the dedication of 1the temple.
I will 1extol you, O Lord, for you have drawn me up and have not let my foes 2rejoice over me.
O Lord my God, I 1cried to you for help, and you have 2healed me.
O Lord, you have brought up my soul from 1Sheol; you restored me to life from among those who 2go down to the pit.a
Sing praises to the Lord, O you 1his saints, and 2give thanks to his holy name.a
1For his anger is but for a moment, and 2his favor is for a lifetime.a 3Weeping may tarry for the night, but 4joy comes with the morning.
As for me, I said in my 1prosperity, “I shall never be 2moved.”
By your favor, O Lord, you made my 1mountain stand strong; you 2hid your face; I was 3dismayed.
To you, O Lord, I cry, and 1to the Lord I plead for mercy:
“What profit is there in my death,a if I go down to the pit?b Will 1the dust praise you? Will it tell of your faithfulness?
1Hear, O Lord, and be merciful to me! O Lord, be my helper!”
You have turned for me my mourning into 1dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,
that my 1glory may sing your praise and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!
