Psalms 63

Psalm 63 ESV

David's thirst after God's service in his sanctuary: 4his manner of blessing God: 9his confidence of the destruction of his enemies, and of his own rejoicing.
A Psalm of David, 1when he was in the wilderness of Judah.
O God, you are my God; 1earnestly I seek you; 2my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in 3a dry and weary land where there is no water.
So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary, beholding 1your power and glory.
Because your 1steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you.
So I will bless you 1as long as I live; in your 2name I will 3lift up my hands.
My soul will be 1satisfied as with fat and rich food, and my mouth will praise you with joyful lips,
when I remember you 1upon my bed, and meditate on you in 2the watches of the night;
for you have been my help, and in 1the shadow of your wings I will sing for joy.
My soul 1clings to you; your right hand 2upholds me.
But those who seek to destroy my life 1shall go down into 2the depths of the earth;
they shall be given over to the power of the sword; they shall be a portion for jackals.
But 1the king shall rejoice in God; all who 2swear by him shall exult, 3for the mouths of 4liars will be stopped.
