A prediction of the kingdom, 4priesthood, 5triumphs, 7and sufferings of Christ.
A Psalm of David.
1The Lord says to my Lord: 2“Sit at my right hand, 3until I make your enemies your 4footstool.”
The Lord sends forth 1from Zion 2your mighty scepter. 3Rule in the midst of your enemies!
1Your people will 2offer themselves freely on the day of your 3power,a in 4holy garments;b from the womb of the morning, the dew of your youth will be yours.c
1The Lord has 2sworn and will 3not change his mind, 4“You are 5a priest 6forever after the order of 7Melchizedek.”
The Lord is at your 1right hand; he will 2shatter kings on 3the day of his wrath.
He will 1execute judgment among the nations, 2filling them with corpses; he will 3shatter chiefsa over the wide earth.
He will 1drink from the brook by the way; therefore he will lift up his head.
