Psalms 82

Psalm 82 ESV

1The Psalmist having exhorted the judges, 5and reproved their misconduct, 8prayeth God to judge.
A Psalm of 1Asaph.
1 1God 2has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of 3the gods he 4holds judgment:
2 “How long will you judge unjustly and 1show partiality to 2the wicked? Selah
3 1Give justice to 2the weak and the fatherless; 3maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute.
4 1Rescue the weak and the needy; 2deliver them from the hand of the wicked.”
5 1They have neither knowledge nor understanding, 2they walk about in darkness; 3all the foundations of the earth are 4shaken.
6 1I said, “You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you;
7 nevertheless, like men 1you shall die, and fall like any prince.”a
8 1Arise, O God, judge the earth; for you shall 2inherit all the nations!
